the Holiday Banquet 2023

GREAT TIME, INCREDIBLE MUSEUM & GOOD FOOD!.

Holiday Banquet 2023 - Lions Automobilia Museum, December 9th 2023

The last event of the year was hosted at the incredible and beautiful Lions Automobilia Foundation and Museum in Rancho Dominguez on December 9th. It was very pleasant to see many club members and their family attending the Banquet in a good and joyful Holiday spirit. Members were asked to bring a toy for the Museum’s donation, and we collect a bunch of them, and that’s always good! The museum is just incredible, with nearly 100,000 sq.ft., it is featuring Southern California’s infamous car culture and motorsports history. We all had the pleasure to meet Rick Lorenzen, the
founder, businessman and car enthusiast, who happen to be an Oldsmobile
aficionado… who’s not!
Everyone took the opportunity to wonder through the museum, and its
numerous automobilia displays. Dinner was served around 4 pm, at
the Rick”s Diner, the food was excellent and I really think everyone had
a good time.
Several awards were given during the evening to members, but this year was the “Oldsmobile’s Woman” Lifetime Achievement Awards that took everyone by surprise… but not surprising when you know all they have done for the club. Not one, but 2 awards were given to two incredible
women:
Ellen Santucci, our Treasurer / Membership board member and Karon Pierce-Warner our past Newsletter Editor, Webmaster board member for their years of dedication, involvement and time to the club!
The Museum is amazing!
In a relative short time, Rick was able to assemble an incredible collection of classic cars, muscles cars, race cars and automobilia, that are really worth seeing. All the iconic cars of the 19th century are on display, and of course, several Oldsmobiles are proudly showing their beauty.
The Holiday Banquet was a great success, many members were able attend the event and to celebrate the end of the year for the Oldsmobile Club of Southern California WOMEN’S YEAR AWARDS.
Congratulations Ladies!
