About the Club

WELCOME TO THE OLDSMOBILE CLUB OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

Since 1972, we have welcomed all Oldsmobile enthusiasts
and we continue to grow!

“No other domestic automobile builder can duplicate the long and glorious trail blazed by Oldsmobile. It spans the curious hand-built wooden carriage which chugged to life in 1897 to the last 2004 Alero that left the Lansing, Michigan plant on April 29, 2004” (reference O.C.A 1970).

Two years later in 1972, a small group of enthusiasts who recognized a need for a local organization to help promote the preservation of the Oldsmobile brand, started The Oldsmobile Club of Southern California. In September of 2022, the club celebrated 50 years together and hopes to keep the tradition alive for many more years to come.

We welcome you to the Oldsmobile Club of Southern California’s website; please feel free to look around and learn more about us and what we do. We also look forward to meeting you and your Oldsmobile at one of our events, car shows or reunions.
You Are the spirit of the Club.

we thank you all

Any year, any model, just an Oldsmobile... or not

The Oldsmobile Club of Southern California is open to all years, models, and “Olds Powered” Automobiles you may possess or wish to own in the future. In fact, there is no requirement to own an Oldsmobile for club membership as long as you remain enthusiastic of the Oldsmobile brand.

The club has many well-versed experts among its ranks with a wealth of knowledge on almost any model produced by the Oldsmobile Brand. They are more than willing to help any newcomers and old-timers alike with questions, tips, and hands-on projects.
There is even a racing contingency amongst the membership ranks; so if going fast or building a street rod is your preference then there is something for those enthusiasts as well.

The Club's Monthly Breakfast Members & Board Meeting

The club makes a great point conducting monthly meetings to keep the members informed of club’s actions and future plans. On the second Saturday of each month, we hold the board meeting during breakfast at the Steamliner in Orange. It is a great opportunity to socialize and meet new members to put faces to the names.
Guests are welcome to join us for breakfast and evaluate the well doing of the Club before eventually joining. You’ll have the opportunity to meet members and feel in first hand the friendlyness and warm of our members.
So if you’ll like to meet us,  come along for breakfast!

Come and Meet Us at the Long Beach Swap Meet every Month.

We are always on the move!

Most months, the Oldsmobile Club of Southern California has car-related or community-related planned events. It is not uncommon to participate in several car shows, private car collection tours, and even non-vehicle related museum tours and charitable events. Additionally, the club also attends local cruise nights, car meets, and participates in parades throughout the year. Some members have also had the honor of having their cars in museum displays in the past, as well as the opportunity of participating in television commercials and movies.

One of the highlights each year is the Pacific Southwest Zone Show sponsored by both the Southern and Northern California Chapters of the Oldsmobile Club of America. Typically held once a year in May, the show location changes yearly between both clubs along the California coast or inland valley. This event is a points judged show, based on the judging structure used at the Oldsmobile Club of America National Meet. It is a good “tune-up” event for those members thinking about attending the “Nationals Show” held in July.

The most anticipated event of the year is the Oldsmobile Club of Southern California’s Memorial Show and Picnic. It is usually held in late October when the summer heat has cooled for everyone’s enjoyment. Both a memorial to members that have left us with a remembrance to their enthusiasm and contribution to the club, as well as a great gathering of members and non-members for a picnic at the park. It is a great time with super nice people and beautiful cars that make for a wonderful day at the park! The show takes place in the greater Los Angeles area and is open to all years and models of Oldsmobiles, as well as non Oldsmobile vehicles.

For so many years, early hot rods used the Rocket engines, The fastest dragsters run Olds engine for years, and boats also all over the world are equipped with Olds too, even Carroll Shelby chose an Oldsmobile engine when he built his Series 1 between 1998 – 2005.
